Very good youthful colour, still dark garnet and only just beginning to brown on the rim; dense, solid, foursquare aromas, fine, rich and scented with lots more to give; similarly dense and rich on the palate, remarkably youthful, wonderful multi-dimensional bitter chocolate fruit, solid backbone, lovely structure and ripe tannins. Goes on and on in the mouth. UK bottled. Score: 5 Stars

With a very attractive pale red rim surrounding a deep crimson centre. Super classic Graham nose of mature red fruits, with hints of mint and eucalyptus. On the palate, smooth and complex, with fine tannins and a very long finish.

Soft, mature plums and roses nose. Soft and mellow on the palate. Meatiness, with a touch of spirit at the end. Lingering red cherries in liqueur.

[Nov 2000] in magnums, a lovely soft ruby colour. Classic nose, liquorice, touch of tar. Leaner than expected but lovely. Most recently [2001] some colourless but superb bouquet, flavour and texture. Now - 2030. Score: 5 stars

Full, vigorous, rich and classy on the palate. Not too sweeet. This is a big concentrated, very fine example. Bags of life ahead of it. Score: 19/20

The attractive nose is showing good fruit and an aroma of peppermints. On the palate, there is excellent structure to what is a classic vintage port. Score: Gold Medal Winner, 1994

The 1966, which I originally thought quite mediocre, has developed beautifully in the bottle and is a much finer vintage port than I suspected.  It should be drunk now as it is not likely to get any better. Score: 88/100

Elegant, silky and youthful, this is a sexy wine.  Medium ruby-red, showing aromas of plums, chocolate and ripe fruit.  The palate follows through with a bounty of sweet plum flavours and a fleshy mouth-feel.  It should continue to improve with age. Score: 93/100
